The pureNA® Cell-Free DNA Isolation Kit is designed to extract high-quality cell-free DNA (cfDNA) from fresh or frozen plasma. It is ideal for use in PCR and next-generation sequencing (NGS) applications.

This kit uses magnetic beads to isolate the small, fragmented DNA that circulates in plasma—typically around 170 base pairs in size. It delivers reliable results even from small sample volumes, with yields ranging from 1 to 100 ng per milliliter of plasma.

With its high yield, flexibility, and compatibility with fragmented cfDNA, the pureNA® Cell-Free DNA Isolation Kit offers a robust solution for research and molecular diagnostics workflows that rely on the analysis of circulating nucleic acids.

The pureNA® Cell-Free DNA Isolation Kit offers a simple and efficient workflow for isolating high-quality cfDNA from fresh or frozen plasma samples. The process is optimized to recover fragmented DNA using Proteinase K digestion (when needed), magnetic bead capture, and ethanol-based purification.

The protocol supports flexible input volumes and is compatible with high-throughput processing. cfDNA binds to magnetic beads, is washed to remove plasma-derived inhibitors, and is eluted in a low-salt buffer suitable for sensitive downstream applications such as qPCR and NGS.

All necessary reagents for cfDNA isolation from human plasma samples are provided.

This protocol requires the use of fresh 100% EtOH, 20mg/mL Proteinase K* and 20% SDS*. Proteinase K from Qiagen (cat no: 19133) and 20% SDS from VWR (cat no: 97062-440) are recommended.

*Only necessary if using plasma from blood collected in Streck Cell-Free BCT preservative.

This protocol also requires a magnetic stand for molecular applications (e.g. DynaMag™-15 or DynaMag™-2).
