Internal Quality Control Assay
Cat Number: IQCA-RT50
The Internal Quality Control Assay is a qPCR-based test that verifies the presence of amplifiable human DNA in FFPE samples to ensure specimen integrity for downstream molecular analysis.
- Assesses FFPE-derived DNA quality.
- Predicts optimal DNA input for maximal and reliable data output in EntroGen’s qPCR assays.
- Saves samples, reagents, and time by eliminating the need for reruns.
- Simple set up and interpretation.
- Automated analysis available.
- For research use (RUO) in the U.S
- For in vitro diagnostic use (IVD) in the European Union
The Internal Quality Control Assay is a real-time PCR-based test designed to confirm the presence of amplifiable human DNA in FFPE tissue samples prior to molecular testing. By targeting a conserved human genomic region, the assay ensures that extracted DNA is of sufficient quality and quantity for reliable downstream applications such as qPCR and next-generation sequencing (NGS).
This quality check is especially critical for FFPE specimens, which are often compromised by formalin fixation and long-term storage.
The assay helps prevent false-negative results by verifying specimen integrity before further analysis.
The IQCA kit requires a real-time PCR instrument capable of detecting the VIC fluorophore.
The kit includes:
- 2x Reaction Master Mix
- Primer-probe mix for the detection of the internal control gene
The kit does not include reagents and materials for DNA isolation.
The reagents in the IQCA kit are sufficient for 50 reactions.
After DNA isolation, set up reactions using reagents provided in the IQCA kit and run the assay on a compatible real-time PCR instrument. The assay may be completed in approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from assay set up to results. Automated analysis is available to assist with data interpretation for certain instruments.
