Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Control Assistant to support our quality control and laboratory operations. This entry-level role is critical to ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and compliance of our diagnostic products. The successful candidate will work closely with the QC and manufacturing teams to maintain lab standards, support equipment calibration, and perform quality testing.
Key Responsibilites:
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and instruments in accordance with QC protocols.
- Receive, inspect, and organize incoming shipments and materials.
- Control and monitor inventory of QC materials and lab supplies.
- Prepare quality control reagents and controls for use in testing.
- Perform routine QC testing and data analysis to ensure product performance meets specifications.
- Record and maintain accurate, detailed documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide general laboratory support including cleaning, organization, and supply restocking.
- Assist in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for non-conforming materials or results.
- Package and ready final product for shipment.
- Prepare buffers and laboratory decontamination solutions.
- Other misc. laboratory maintenance tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Biology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data entry.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, and twisting for extended periods.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 0–3 years of experience working in a laboratory or QC environment (academic or industry).
- Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques, especially PCR.
- Familiarity with precision pipetting (1–1000 µL) and aseptic technique.
- Experience in a regulated environment (CLIA, FDA, ISO) is a plus.
Salary Expectations:
$23-$27 per hour
