BRAF Codon 600 Mutation Analysis Kit II
Cat Number: BRAFX-RT64
The BRAF Codon 600 Mutation Analysis Kit is a PCR-based assay that detects somatic mutations in exon 15 of the BRAF gene, which are associated with cancer growth and progression, particularly in advanced melanoma.
- Detects as low as 1% mutant allelic frequency
- 64 tests per kit
- 2-hour turnaround time
- Works with FFPE, fresh frozen, FNA and plasma samples
- 5 Reactions per sample
- For research use (RUO) in the U.S
- For in vitro diagnostic use (IVD) in the European Union
Mutations in the BRAF gene, particularly in codon 600 of exon 15, are commonly found in cancers, including non-Hodgkin lymphoma, colorectal cancer, malignant melanoma, papillary thyroid carcinoma, non-small cell lung carcinoma, and adenocarcinoma of lung. Studies show that samples with these mutations may benefit from targeted kinase inhibitor therapies, highlighting the importance of comprehensive mutation testing for informing therapeutic strategies.
The BRAF Codon 600 Mutation analysis real-time assay uses real-time PCR to accurately detect somatic mutations in exon 15 of the BRAF gene, even in samples with mostly normal DNA.
The kit identifies the presence of the mutations in a total of 5 reactions per sample.

V600K | c.1798_1799GT>AA | Valine (V) to lysine acid (K) | 10-15% |
V600D | c.1799_1800TG>AT | Valine (V) to aspartic acid (D) | <5% |
V600R | c.1798_1799GT>AG | Valine (V) to arginine (R) | <5% |
V600M | c.1798G>A | Valine (V) to methionine (M) | <1% |
V600G | c.1799T>G | Valine (V) to Glycine(G) | <1% |
The BRAF Mutation Analysis Kit follows a simple and easy to use process. It can be completed in 2 hours and follows a simple straightforward process.
EntroGenʼs BRAF mutation screening panel requires a real-time PCR instrument capable of detecting FAM and VIC fluorescent probes. This test includes reagents required for PCR amplification/detection, as well as validated reaction controls.
Columns and reagents for DNA isolation are not included. Genomic DNA from frozen or formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissues can be extracted using commercial DNA extraction kit, such as the EntroGen pureNA® Genomic DNA Isolation Kit. Cell-free DNA from plasma can be extracted using commercial DNA extraction kit, such as the EntroGen pureNA® Cell-Free DNA Isolation Kit.
