Studies have shown that IDH1\/2 mutations are highly prevalent in lower-grade gliomas (WHO grades II and III) and secondary glioblastomas, where they are associated with better patient survival outcomes. Additionally, these mutations are known to influence tumor metabolism, making them potential targets for emerging therapeutic strategies.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to their role in gliomas, IDH1\/2 mutations are found in approximately 20% of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients. These mutations disrupt key cellular processes, preventing bone marrow cells from maturing properly and contributing to leukemia development. Targeting these mutations, IDH inhibitors have been developed to help leukemia cells differentiate into normal blood cells.
