Chromosomal translocations are key genetic events in leukemia, leading to the formation of fusion genes that drive disease progression. One of the most significant translocations in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is t(8;21)(q22;q22), resulting in the AML1-ETO fusion gene, which is present in approximately 8% of AML cases.
