Mutations in <em data-start=\"251\" data-end=\"257\">KRAS<\/em> (codons 12, 13) and <em data-start=\"278\" data-end=\"284\">NRAS<\/em> (codons 12, 13, and 61) are frequently associated with resistance to anti-EGFR therapies in cancers such as metastatic colorectal cancer, highlighting the importance of RAS mutation screening for informing personalized treatment selection.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"512\" data-end=\"799\" class=\"\">The assay utilizes allele-specific primers and fluorescent hydrolysis probes to preferentially amplify mutant DNA even in the presence of a high proportion of wild-type DNA.
