DPYD Genotyping Kit
Cat Number: DPYD-RT26
The DPYD Genotyping Kit is a real-time PCR-based assay that detects clinically relevant germline variants in the DPYD gene, which are associated with reduced dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase activity and increased risk of severe toxicity to fluoropyrimidine-based therapies.
- 26 tests per kit
- 2-hour turnaround time
- Works with extracted human genomic DNA
- 4 Reactions per sample in duplicate
- For research use (RUO) in the U.S and European Union
Dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase (DPD), encoded by the DPYD gene, is the key enzyme responsible for the metabolism of fluoropyrimidine-based therapies such as 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) and capecitabine. Germline variants in DPYD can result in reduced or absent enzyme activity, leading to increased exposure to active drug metabolites and a significantly higher risk of severe, and potentially life-threatening, toxicities. These toxicities may include myelosuppression, gastrointestinal complications, and neurotoxicity, making DPYD genotyping an important tool in pharmacogenomics research and treatment planning.
The EntroGen DPYD Genotyping Kit is designed to detect clinically relevant DPYD variants associated with reduced enzyme activity. Using a streamlined real-time PCR workflow, the assay enables clear and reliable identification of genetic variants across multiple targets in a single test.
The table below lists the AMP Tier 1 DPYD variants detected by the kit:

For More Information
The DPYD Genotyping Kit follows a simple and streamlined workflow that can be completed within a standard workday, enabling efficient genotyping of clinically relevant variants.
EntroGen’s DPYD Genotyping Kit requires a real-time PCR instrument capable of detecting VIC, FAM, and CY5 fluorescent probes.
This assay includes all reagents necessary for multiplex PCR amplification and detection, along with validated controls, including a homozygous variant control, homozygous wild-type control, and a reference calibrator to support accurate genotype determination.
Reagents for genomic DNA extraction are not included. High-quality genomic DNA can be isolated using commercially available extraction kits.
